Now that I’m looking, it’s all I can see…

Architecture is all about drawing and modeling these small ‘worlds’…at a specific scale…

Marco Frascari calls it cosmopoiesis (world making)

When I see the patterns in the glassware I see extremely small and intricate worlds of light. A lot of aquatic looking light patterns show up…namely the ‘rib cage’ projection and the vertical rotating glass, which reminds me of circulating fins. Each glass object has every degree of shadow (from shade to shadow core) then has every degree of reflected or projected light (from sparse to dense/reflected core). Drawing bent glass reflections could be incredibly beneficial to students drawing in graphite, because it requires more ‘absence’ on a sheet of paper (from ‘white’ to ‘more white’).

Just thought I’d share…
